About Special Unit
Ahmedabad City Police in its endeavor to improve the safety and security of its citizens, shall undertaking steps to incorporate gender sensitivity in their own team, other stakeholders in the criminal justice system (including prosecutors and medical officials) and in the community. The stakeholders will/are the front-line functionaries and first responders to any instance involving crime against women and are thereby expected to be sensitive and unbiased while performing their duties as practitioners and volunteers. The training and capacity building component of the Ahmedabad Safe city initiative will aid the police department and other stakeholders through sensitization and knowledge sharing. The intervention is expected to mould different stakeholders to exhibit compassion and neutrality towards citizens seeking help and thereby create a more approachable and safer ecosystem.

SHE team
100 nos. of She Teams vehicles (Bolero) have been procured and are fully functional.
These vehicles are deployed in 50 police stations and SOP for their operations has already been formulated and vehicles are following them in their day to day operations. These vehicles are proving to be game changers in our combat against domestic violence, eve teasing, slum area patrolling and for over all women safety.
Each SHE team has Total 5 members, 4 female and 1 male members. 1 senior member and 4 constables.
They are used to create awareness and support to women safety.
Two teams are attached to 1 police station.
Each team does minimum 1-2 meetings and programmes every day in community operations.

All women cyber unit
Two All women cyber units are planned to be established at two Mahila Police stations, each one at Shahibaug Mahila Police station and Vastrapur Mahila Police station.
Cyber kits for the same has been ordered and Gujarat Police Housing Corporation is working for the infrastructure work of All women cyber units.
